Buy a Google Chromecast, get some Play

Google is giving new Chromecast buyers in the United States $20 in Play Store credit until January 2, 2o16. It’s clear that the Google Chromecast is a loss leader for the company. You can even buy the device from Best Buy or Walmart to qualify.

Chromecast offers up much of what you’ll find on Apple TV or any other streaming device and at this price, it’s at least worth a look at.

Chromecast has sold more than 20 million devices worldwide and will be available here via Globe retailers starting December 14, 2015 for P1,995 each.

One of this year’s hottest gifts is a streaming media player, and there’s a good reason for their popularity. So, if you’re planning to replace your old Chromecast, now it’s the time to buy a new model, but Google has specified that only the U.S. and Canadian customers are eligible to receive $20 in credit to spend on the official Android store. But if you’re not a constant app buyer, the $15 credit may not be a convincing marketing strategy for you. It’s simple: buy one Chromecast unit – whether that’s the video or audio model – and you’ll get $5 off, bringing it down to $30.

This very nice deal briefly showed up on the Chromecast Offers page days before the promo starts, but it was immediately taken out (but probably only because it wast posted way too early). Just plug it into your TV’s HDMI port and you can now view stuff from your smart device on your TV. That offer also doesn’t apply to the Chromecast Audio, so you’ll have to buy a regular Chromecast to get it.
