Buzz Builds Ahead of Apple Event

Most analysts believe sales of Apple’s watch – which the company has not disclosed – have not yet justified the fanfare.

Getting rid of the traditional analog jack means future iPhone owners will need earbuds or headphones that use a digital connection, either through a wireless signal like Bluetooth or a cord that fits in the same port used for recharging the device.

If you missed a chance to watch the event live, you can still catch it later. The Apple Watch 2 is also rumored to feature a larger battery, possibly to power this addition.

After all, by many accounts this year’s phones may not look like much to write home about. Customers expecting a completely remade phone this year could be disappointed.

The screen sizes of the two smartphones too are likely to be same as the current-generation iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch respectively.

A major change is said to be the disappearance of an earbud jack.

There have also been reports that wired headphones could be made available that connect through the phone’s Lighting port, now used for battery charging.

Some of Apple’s rivals are also moving away from the headphone jack.

Instead, gray will be replaced by two shades of black: Space Black (AKA darker Space Gray) and Piano Black, which will give the device’s casing a particular shine to it.

Jack controversy: The removal of the audio jack might make it easier to waterproof the iPhone, but will make all existing wired headphones obsolete, unless people buy an Lighting adapter.

Improved memory and better speakers are some of the other expected changes.

Reports suggest that the iPhone 7 will be powered by Apple’s new A10 chip offering a maximum speed of 2.4 GHz. That’s because the button will now use Apple’s Force Touch technology, which can sense how hard the glass is being pressed. Both the handsets, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7s are likely to be equipped with 12-megapixel sensors, promising an even smooth experience to the users. Pacific / 1 p.m.
