Cadillac To Kill Off ELR Due To Poor Sales
“I plan to continue admiring it as one of the most handsome cars on four wheels” de Nysschen told reporters during a media drive for Cadillac’s large CT6 large sedan in Los Angeles. “But we don’t plan further investment”.

It’s hard to say whether now is the absolute best time to buy a 2015 Cadillac ELR.
This story is making the rounds but the quote is not substantially different from one given by de Nysschen previous year.
Do you think you’ll miss the ELR?
While this isn’t overly shocking news, as it broke in July of previous year that the plug-in luxury coupe wouldn’t live to see another generation, Automotive News made it clear that the model would last until at least 2018.
The 2016 model came with a number of upgrades, including improved bearings, gears, and clutches, as well as new software that helped provide a 25% increase in power.
What was even more surprising, though, was that the production version, the ELR, had a design that was nearly as daring as the original concept.

While the debut of the Volt, which is cheaper and has an expanded driving range, raised people’s hopes of the ELR receiving the same treatment for its second generation, de Nysschen’s confirmation last week shut those hopes down. Also, it comes with extreme white glove customer service, and buyers have been known to snap them up for steep dollars off sticker price. Just 1,024 ELRs were sold in 2015, compared to 35,921 Escalade SUVs.
