Caitlyn Jenner honored at Glamour’s Women of the Year awards

Caitlyn Jenner was in NY on Monday, November 9 for Glamour magazine’s 2015 Women of the Year awards where the reality star received the top nod as Woman of the Year, after coming out as a woman in April.

Caitlyn Jenner is one of the 25 people honored as Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year, a distinction earned for her willingness to be “relentlessly open”, the publication said.

Jenner described her journey to becoming a woman, and spoke of how she sat down with her children to discuss her plans to go public.

Reese Witherspoon offered to produce Amy Schumer’s biopic during her acceptance speech on sexism at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards last night (11.09.15).

Debates over whether or not Jenner actually does her own grocery shopping aside, a life of endless media criticism can make even the bravest among us question our next steps. Since then, she has made numerous appearances and speeches to support transgender issues. “And by doing that, maybe make a difference”. To be authentic to myself about who I am.

Jenner, who announced earlier this year he meant to live the rest of his life as a woman, was honored as the publication’s “Transgender Champion” during the event.

Other honorees included ballerina Misty Copeland, soccer Team US and women who survived the deadly shooting in Charleston, South Carolina.

Meanwhile, Caitlyn recently confirmed her name and gender change had been finalised. She said, “It’s getting hard”.

She added: “I’ve had many, many, many years of isolation of hiding from the world, lying to the world, of not being myself”. Posting a illustration of the clothes on INSTAGRAM, she wrote: “Had a few major wardrobe / clothing malfunctions yet in that couldn’t stop me from supporting the ones I love”.

“So it’s always the little things in life that really you notice”, Caitlyn shared.

“They have been inspired and led by the generations of Women of the Year before them, and Glamour is thrilled to celebrate their passion”. However, Kim confessed that she still tries to wear her heels as much as possible, but only for short intervals.

“Picture and gender marker are all ‘F, ‘” she said. “I never in a million years thought I’d be here and I am sure you didn’t either”.
