Caitlyn Jenner Reacts to Her ESPYs Speech: ‘It Wasn’t Easy’

When Caitlyn Jenner took the stage at Wednesday night’s ESPY Awards, Lone Survivor and Friday Night Lights director Peter Berg reposted a rather contentious image from Facebook onto his Instagram account.

Those lambasting Berg are voicing opinions similar to what Jenner said in her ESPYs speech, in which she called for tolerance and acceptance of people’s differences.

She said: “I only want my kids to be proud of their dad”.

Caitlyn was supported by all of her children (except Rob Kardashian) as she picked up the hugely well-deserved Arthur Ashe Courage Award earlier this week.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner are still in “a state of total confusion” over their father’s transition.

“I’m just great to be in a position where my family has been so supportive of what’s happening, you know?” she explained. “I’m new at this”, she joked.

The Malibu glamour girl continued, “My plea for you tonight is one join me in making this one of your issues as well”.

“I find it hard to understand how the culture we live in can honor a person who is responsible for taking a life and injuring several others with both an award and a reality show”. “They’re getting murdered and they’re commiting suicide”. But, her mention of a Metro Detroit transgender teen in the speech has outraged that teen’s mother.

The 64-year-old former Olympian added that transgenders deserve people’s respect as it will help them to come out freely and will also help in creating better world for everyone.

“But for thousands of kids out there coming to terms with the reality of who they are they shouldn’t have to take it”. For that reason alone, trans people deserve something vital.

“There was a hiccup during the talks about Caitlyn receiving the award, and her reps were prepared to pull her interview with Diane Sawyer if she didn’t get it”, the source said. We’re all different. It’s not a bad thing.
