Caitlyn Jenner attended the 2015 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in NY City last night (November 9), where the publication recognized her continued efforts in bringing visibility and awareness to transgender issues.

Online, Caitlyn Jenner was among this year’s recipients of the “Women of the Year” award, given to female “trailblazers and newsmakers from across the worlds of entertainment, fashion, politics, business, and more”. “If I can do it, anyone can do it. I want to make a woman feel like the best version of herself”, she said.
Jenner went on to share even more details about her recent milestones, including legally becoming a woman. Maybe this is why God put me on this earth-to tell my story.
Glamour magazine hosted its annual Women of the Year gala on Monday night in NY, and a few of the country’s most inspiring women were in attendance.
“A year ago Caitlyn Jenner did not have a name”, Thomas Page McBee, a trans media advocate, wrote in the award announcement.
Caitlyn picked up the Transgender Champion award, and while she wowed in a floor length blue gown at the ceremony, Kylie covered up in a huge baggy denim jacket, admitting she has suffered “major wardrobe malfunctions” before arriving.
Jenner revealed that coming out with Diane Sawyer was a pivotal point in her life. She has since starred on I Am Cait, which follows her gender transition, and will return for a second season in 2016. Now able to fly with proper identification, Jenner shared an anecdote of sitting proudly on the plane, leafing through Glamour magazine without the pressure to hide what she was reading. I sat them down and told them that this is who I am, and this is my story. “I haven’t been on the airlines for over a year. Why?”
Jenner, one of a group of honorees that included actress Reese Witherspoon, dancer Misty Copeland and designer Victoria Beckham, also said that, in case anyone was wondering, “I’m very happy to be living on the other side”. So I sat down with each one of my ten children. “I was kind of stuck in the middle”. “It’s always the little things in life that really you notice”.

Jenner didn’t run from the paparazzi, as she used to do before transitioning; she stood smiling as she posed with her trademark long tresses styled in a chic updo.
