Calais Campbell licking his chops to face Jimmy Garoppolo

Brady appealed in an attempt to overturn a four-game suspension handed down to him by NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell over accusations that the New England Patriots used under-inflated footballs in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Patriots were docked $1 million and two draft picks for the scandal that has come to be known as Deflategate.

Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots loses appeal in “deflategate” case. In fact, here’s a game-by-game look at what to expect from the Patriots with Brady most likely suspended during the first four games of the 2016 National Football League season. But the foreseen absence of superstar quarterback Tom Brady might all affect the Patriots journey to the top.

The Bills and Dolphins, on the other hand, no doubt will be pulling hard for a negative ruling against Brady because Miami faces New England on the road in Week 2 and Buffalo does the same in Week 4.

With Brady scheduled to miss the first four games and be replaced by the unproven Jimmy Garoppolo, Gang Green has to like their chances – assuming the contract standoff with free-agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick (who threw a franchise-record 31 touchdowns last season) can be resolved. Yet offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels must be careful not to get in the way of Brady’s prep. Sort of like Leonardo DiCaprio doing a cartoon.

The Patriots also must begin considering their overall quarterback situation. Rookie Jacoby Brissett would be the only backup to the untested Garoppolo, hardly an ideal situation for anything except a rebuilding team. The Patriots should start out at least 2-2 after the first month without Brady anyway. He appealed that decision to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, but today, that “Hail Mary pass” was denied.

Envision a scenario where the deflated footballs issue remained unsettled and Brady received a stay of his suspension while the courts considered its merits. Calais Campbell made an appearance on CBS Sports Radio’s “Tiki and Tierney”.

Wallach likes Brady’s chances of being awarded a stay because refusing to award such would run the risk of the quarterback enduring irreparable harm.

“He’s going to sit out the four games and I hope he does”. Even a Denver Broncos fan, Jasmine Dasilva, told Eyewitness News she thought Brady’s punishment was too harsh.
