Calgarians celebrate the end of Ramadan with Eid al-Fitr

As the world celebrated the end of the Holy month of Ramadan with Eid Al-Fitr, it was not just a soiree of sumptuous dinner and jolly getaways everywhere.

Muslims in Kashmir and the southern state of Kerala in India ushered in festivities a day ahead of nationwide celebrations on Thursday.

Eid al-Fitr is usually celebrated over a couple of days, with followers of Islam dressing in their finest clothes, exchanging small gifts and cards, and hosting parties and gatherings with lavish foods. Some have said this Ramadan has been more hard than usual.

Over the course of the month, Muslims have cultivated and inculcated the spirit of good, and strived to defeat the spirit of vice.
