Calgary Muslims mark Ramadan’s end with motto for love

Muslims worldwide have begun celebrating Eid al-Fitr marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

Fasting is viewed as a time to exercise self-control, and as a cleanse for the mind, body and spirit.

But this is also a time to remember those less fortunate and those who are suffering.

He urged all to continue to pray fervently for peace before, during and after the elections adding that the appearance of the new moon brings to a close the holy month of Ramadan.

In a statement, Arora said: “My family and colleagues join me in conveying our warm greetings and best wishes to everyone, especially our Muslim brothers and sisters, on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr”. Eid’l Fitr, which fell on July 6 this year, has earlier been declared a national holiday. Muslims are encouraged to meet in large groups and celebrate the day.

“We also urge the nation to shun any acts of violence, intolerance and impunity that has the tendency to disturb the peace and tranquility of the nation”.

Eid Al-Fitr is a five-day holiday in Pakistan and Oman from July 5 2016.

Malawians are celebrating the end of fasting today despite the recent information from Muslim body, MAM that Ramadan will end tomorrow.

Prime Minister Cameroon in his eid address to Muslims in the United Kingdom and the globe said, “I want to send my very best wishes to Muslims at home and around the world celebrating Eid”. A few people expressed mixed emotions about the holidays. The White House declined a couple of months later, saying though the Obama administration “understands the importance” of the event, it’s up to Congress to make the official designation.
