People were injured after a small tour bus crashed and rolled over on highway 330 approximately 2 miles north of the 210 freeway Sunday, May 22, 2016.

According to San Bernardino County Fire, the bus rolled over near Highway 330, injuring 20 people with six suffering critical injuries.

It was one of several vehicles transporting 200 women home to Downey, California, from their annual mountain retreat.

“Family members will be picking up the women from Loma Linda (University Medical Center) today”, Robert Acosta, assistant to the senior pastor of Iglesia de Cristo Ministerios Llamada Final in Downey, said Monday. Acosta goes on to say that ” It was unnerving, but we immediately pulled together.

Ambulances took the victims to a hospital Sunday. Two people aboard were not hurt. They had previously put the injury toll at 26.

“At one point, there was contact between the front of the 2000 El Dorado bus and the rear of a 2013 Nissan Versa before the bus overturned at 2:11 p.m.”, CHP spokesman Juan Quintero told the newspaper.

The highway was shut down for more than four hours as crews rescued and triaged trapped passengers, removed the bus from the road and conducted an accident investigation.

This is the bus that flipped on its side as it carried 22 women home from a church retreat at the top of the San Bernardino Mountains on Sunday at 2pm.

Eight people were killed when that tour bus crashed on its way back from Tijuana, Mexico.
