A California appeals court has temporarily halted an order requiring Bill Cosby and his former lawyer, Martin Singer, to be deposed in a defamation lawsuit filed by model Janice Dickinson.

In other words, Bloom would not be able to question Cosby about the dozens of other women who have accused him of drugging and sexually assaulting or abusing them.

In her lawsuit, she says after she came forward with the allegations Cosby’s lawyer and publicist made statements meant to expose her to public contempt and ridicule.

Dickinson alleges that Cosby drugged and raped her in Lake Tahoe in 1982.

Joseph Cammarata, the attorney representing all seven women participating in the MA lawsuit, told BuzzFeed News that he does not expect any more defamation lawsuits to be filed.

“I am not a liar”, she said at the news conference.

AIG argues that Cosby’s alleged actions aren’t covered under the policy, as it includes personal injury claims “arising out of … sexual molestation, misconduct or harassment”. She said he invited her to his bungalow for a professional meeting.

Cosby and his legal teams have sought to avoid giving depositions, after one he submitted to 10 years ago in an earlier civil suit was leaked earlier this year.

But what works as a public relations strategy may be problematic as a legal one, experts said.
