California rock band was performing when Paris venue attacked
The name is intentionally ironic-what would a cross between the Eagles and a death metal band sound like?-as the band has more of a bluesy-garage-rock sound. President Francois Hollande called the tragedy – which ISIS has since claimed responsibility for – “an act of war”.

That all changed Friday, when the good-time band founded in 1998 by Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jesse Hughes became a footnote to history.
U2 lead singer Bono, bass player Adam Clayton, drummer Larry Mullen Jr and guitarist The Edge pay homage to attacks’ victims near the Bataclan concert hall on in Paris.
“And as they got up to try to evacuate they saw men with machine guns just shooting anything and everything in the venue”, Dorio said.
On Friday night the Eagles of Death Metal Facebook page posted: “We are still now trying to determine the safety and whereabouts of all our band and crew. Nick died doing the job he loved and we take great comfort in knowing how much he was cherished by his friends around the world”, Alexander’s family said in a statement.
Video circulating online appears to show the terrifying moment gunfire erupted in the Bataclan theatre while hundreds danced to the music of rock band the Eagles of Death Metal.
Alexander has previously toured with the Black Keys, Panic! at the Disco, and Sum 41. The members and crew were quickly taken to a safe-space nearby.
Dorio, who is also a member of The Whigs, posted a photo on Instagram this afternoon from Paris.
According to the Daily Mail, a spokesperson said the band will eventually issue a statement.
The Deftones, who were scheduled to play shows at the Bataclan from Saturday through Monday, will also return to the States, the promoter said.
The band, which hails from Palm Desert, was in Paris as part of a European tour.

Eagles of Death Metal are reportedly all safe, but their merch seller was recently confirmed as the first Briton to die in the attacks.
