California Tightens Gun Laws In Aftermath Of San Bernardino, Orlando

While he vetoed five bills – including a one-gun-per-month purchase limit – he endorsed the most ambitious pieces of the Legislature’s gun control push over the roar of gun-rights advocates frustrated by the increasing weight of restrictions. Reaction from local elected officials was immediate.

Joe Costello, who owns a Willow Glen gun store, said he spent the day fielding questions on the phone and in person about the new gun laws.

Another bill that sought to classify the body of a firearm as a firearm, thus closing a loophole that has allowed unfinished gun frames or receivers to be sold under less scrutiny than a finished gun would require, was deemed to have wording that was too vague.
