California woman files suit after video shows cops punching her

Moments later, a second officer masked by a motorcycle helmet is shown hiking down Hahn’s pink dress while helping her up.

Hahn was then charged with resisting arrest and felony battery on an officer, but those charges were dropped this July, two years later, when the district attorney saw the witnesses video. She says her son still talks about it.

“The next thing I know, I’m on the ground and he’s attacking me and then the other officer comes and I’m thinking he’s going to help me and he ratcheted it up”, said Cindy.

Hahn says her children screamed and watched from the vehicle.

The footage Hahn alleges captured her on the ground with one officer on top of her and a second officer repeatedly hitting her in the head. They’re screaming and I have my hand behind my back and I can’t get to my kids.

The officer “immediately pulled her over on the pretextual grounds that the driver of the vehicle had a seatbelt violation” and arrested her, the complaint said, noting that Hahn allegedly never received a citation for a violation.

Hahn is represented by Mark J. Geragos, a lawyer who has also represented P. Diddy and Chris Brown in the past.

Stunned, Hahn says she told a man nearby what the officer said and together they decided she should do something about it so she started to take video.

According to court documents, Hahn suffered permanent memory loss and brain trauma.

She still plans on suing, however, and her father, a former police officer, said the lawsuit is justified.

When Hahn – whose father is a police officer – asked an officer on duty why police weren’t shutting off the vehicle alarm, the officer – identified in court documents as Officer Kenyatte Valentine – reportedly told her to mind her “own fucking business”.

She said she reported the incident to police after the cop continued swearing at her, but then left the scene.

The City of Carlsbad issued a statement to KCAL-TV, saying: “The City of Carlsbad looks forward to bringing this lawsuit before the proper judicial authorities as soon as possible”.

Video of the arrest shows a cop punching Hahn’s face with a closed fist as she repeatedly cries out “help me”.

The police department has not commented on the lawsuit. “We are prepared to provide a complete and detailed account of the facts of this incident in a courtroom, not in the media”, Kristina Ray, spokesperson for the City of Carlsbad, said.
