Cam Heyward, the Pittsburgh Steelers defensive end, wore eye black with “Ironhead” written on it for the second straight week during Sunday’s 25-13 win over Arizona to honor his dad, who died after a long fight with cancer in 2006.

Heyward wrote on Twitter on Wednesday that the league fined him for wearing “Ironhead” on his eye black – “Iron” under his right eye and “Head” under his left.

In October, the NFL allows league-approved pink accessories for NFL players, coaches and officials to raise awareness for breast cancer.

Heyward mentions fellow teammate DeAngelo Williams, who has been finding ways to honour his mother, who died of breast cancer. That’s a violation of the NFL’s uniform policy.
