Cam Newton: ‘I’m an African-American QB that scares people’
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton says just because he’s preparing for the Super Bowl and all the hype that comes with it, he won’t change who he is. Auburn’s very own Cam Newton will add more hardware to his already ever accumulating mantle and we that followed him here, will be able to say we knew that guy, although vicariously. I always knew how to play football growing up. Some of them just happen to be haters. He also won the MVP award that day when he led the Washington Redskins to a 42-10 victory over the Denver Broncos while throwing for 340 yards and four touchdowns on 18-of-29 passing. “Another solution: The kids get the TD balls and other game-worn gear from Newton and the Panthers is auctioned off after Super Bowl 50”. They talk about skillset…. And he openly blamed much of that slow start on the “The Blind Side“, a blockbuster film inspired by his real-life journey to the NFL. He doesn’t want to be known as an African-American quarterback.

This year’s edition of the battle for football supremacy will be the tale of two quarterbacks who could not be more different, and two defenses who couldn’t be more similar. The former Pro Bowl linebacker for the Chicago Bears made it clear Thursday that he is not a fan of Newton’s antics, and that he vastly prefers the understated demeanor of the quarterback Newton will be facing in the Super Bowl, the Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning.
Newton recently weighed in on the controversy regarding the way fans perceive him, per David Newton of ESPN.com: “I’ve said this since Day 1. It shows that if you help somebody and give somebody a chance and don’t judge people, look where they can get to”.
RE: Other players you’ve seen that have had the locker room effect Cam has? However, I would argue that there are more reasons than that.
Seattle Seahawks fans, who suffered a playoff loss to the Panthers a week and a half ago, were particularly irked that Newton ripped down one of their signs at Carolina’s Bank of America Stadium.
“People are going to have their own opinions on certain things that I don’t have control over, nor does anyone else”.
It will be interesting to see if the Broncos can score enough to topple the Panthers, who should find the end zone once or twice with Cam Newton.
That is why during Wednesday’s meeting with the media, Carolina’s Newton said his ethnicity plays a role in how he is judged by some people. That is, Newton offers an all-around service for the NFL team which makes him an unbelievable football star.
“Here I am doing exactly what I want to do how I want to do it”, Newton said.
And if I hear or see, “chicken parm you taste so good” one more time, I will put my shoe through the television.

“I don’t think he spends a lot time with what people think about him if it’s not positive”.
