Cam Newton, Josh Norman Scuffle Erupts at Panthers Camp

Whatever the reason, there seems to be a high number of fights and scuffles at NFL training camps this year.

A day after he fought with Carolina Panthers teammate Josh Norman at practice, franchise quarterback Cam Newton expressed no regrets and said the incident would serve to make the team better. This fight appeared to stem from Newton’s throwing of a pick to Panthers defensive back Josh Norman. “If he throws an interception, it might mean his tackling the guy before he gets to the end zone to give our defense a chance to stop them, he’s got to do it”.

“It escalated from there”, Rivera said.

Added Rivera: “Its not like you have to have (the trash talk) every day — or you have to have it all.”.

Asked about the suspension report before Tuesday’s practice, defensive end Calais Campbell said “it’s one of those things you hate to hear, you hope that the appeal process goes in our favor, but it’s one of those things you have to deal with”. The varied opinions are fair, as Newton can go from throwing a ideal 30 yard strike one play to over-throwing a tight end on a 5 yard out route and getting intercepted as a result the next. But to become even better, Cam Newton must protect himself from the injury bug and continue to work on his consistency.

On the possibility of a fight next week during practices with Dolphins: I do know this, we’re not taking any punches from anybody. It’s just going back to the basics really-doing everything over. Leading your team. Im not going to let anyone dictate how I play.”.

The two players had to be separated by teammates during the scuffle.

While it’s a normal practice, there were probably some nervous members of the Carolina Panthers today as their 0 million franchise quarterback got involved in a scuffle. “For what I see it, it’s two people”.

The sight of Thomas going down left a few teammates shaken.

The Panthers know what they have in Newton and backup Derek Anderson.

But the always loquacious and candid Norman had not been heard from – until Wednesday, when the fourth-year player from Greenwood, S.C., met with the media for 15 minutes.

I was able to attend the Panthers’ training camp practice on Sunday, and you could tell that something like this was bound to happen. When Ginn gets the ball in his hands, he’s capable of making highlight-reel plays, though those generally happen on special teams and not on offense.
