Cam Newton stars for Carolina Panthers against New York Giants
No other quarterback has three five-touchdown games this year, and only Russell Wilson has two.

Looking forward, only two opponents remain in the Panthers’ way of finishing unbeaten – the NFC South’s Atlanta Falcons (7-7) in Week 16 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-8) to wrap up the regular season.
It is the first time in the history of the National Football League that a quarterback threw for five touchdowns, and rushed for 100-yards. That won’t be easy to accomplish, but at this point, it’s hard to bet against Cam Newton.
In 2004, Tennessee’s Steve McNair and Indianapolis’ Peyton Manning shared the MVP award.
But there is no one close to Newton this year.
Newton’s been rockin” the furry new accessory all season – and plans to continue the trend, picking up more than 60 TAILS at $200 a pop…so says the guy who makes “em.
He is the face of the Panthers. Newton did all the right things in the right time, leaving Graham Gano with a 43-yard field goal to hit and win the game with no time left on the clock. He threw for 340 yards and rushed for another 100, and did not throw an interception.
Richard Dent, the Hall of Fame defensive end and Super Bowl XX MVP with the 1985 Bears, told USA Today recently that Newton’s dancing and celebrations are a sign of disrespect that he wouldn’t tolerate if he still played.
Sunday marked the sixth time this season the Giants have surrendered the winning points in the final two minutes of a game – and the fourth in the waning seconds.

The Giants’ defense has specialized this season in allowing crushing, late scoring drives to cost them games and Sunday was no different in a 38-35 loss to Carolina, as Cam Newton led the Panthers on a game-winning drive easily. That was the signature performance not just of Newton’s MVP season, but of his career. And if he doesn’t win the award going away, then they should just cancel the award.
