Cam Newtons say NO to Packers Banner
The Panthers offense started off the game by driving deep into Packers territory after quarterback Cam Newton rushed for 56 yards, but the Green Bay defense held in the redzone. Whatever the case, if you disrespect Carolina, you’ll have Super Cam to deal with. A few Panthers may still try to play the “no one respects us” card, but that’s no longer true about their quarterback. “I just want my sign back”, said Dobs, 50, noting security at the stadium told him Newton “tore it up in the locker room”.

Dobs said he wants his sign returned and an apology from Newton, who has received an outpouring of support from teammates and fans.
“I was just shocked, shocked”, Dobs told the Fayetteville Observer.
It’s way too early to be thinking about January – especially with the way the Packers are playing right now – but if the opportunity to face the Panthers again in the playoffs comes up, the Packers will be more prepared for Bank of America Stadium.
Newton stated that when the Panthers played the Packers last season at Lambeau, there weren’t any Panthers banners being waved, that “it is a respect thing”. “I was passing. The sign was dangling. We all know gangs, we all know territories, we all know businesses… you’re not about to sit up here and sell a Whopper at a McDonald’s”. Lost in the shuffle of the “controversy” surrounding Newton tearing down a Green Bay fans’ sign is the fact that Newton is actually a pretty good dude.
A representative of the Panthers called the Dobs family and said they are going to recreate the sign to give to the family. At a news conference Monday, Panthers coach Ron Rivera referred to the incident as a “side story”. The family says they even got approval to have the banner, which shows a map of NC and says “North Carolina Cheesehead” in the stands.
Newton has been dropping dimes in recent weeks, including passes of 59, 52 and 39 yards in Sunday’s 37-29 win that boosted Carolina to 8-0.
The website also answered several questions about the policy review. We’d rather not see opposing signage in our stadium, but when this policy was developed it was consistent with the vast majority of National Football League stadiums. Of course the Panthers will probably do that but these cheese heads are getting out of hand about their banner.
