Cameron to make case for bombing IS in Syria

Cameron said if Britain didn’t act after IS-claimed attacks in Paris that killed 130 people, the U.K.’s allies might well ask, “if not now, when?”

REDDITCH MP Karen Lumley says she is ready to support David Cameron in bombing Syria. November 13, terrorists killed 89 people at the storied theater during an Eagles of Death Metal show.

Cameron has said he will make his case to the British parliament in the coming days about joining air strikes on Syria.

In between the two trips, Hollande is due to receive German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday night and Italy’s President Matteo Renzi on Thursday morning.

The PM’s statement came hours after he met French president François Hollande in Paris to pay tribute to the victims of the terror attacks.

Labour s anti-war leader Jeremy Corbyn is against any military action but Cameron appears increasingly confident he can get enough support from Labour MPs to pass the vote, particularly after last week s UN Security Council resolution authorising countries to “take all necessary measures” against IS.

While calling for more security cooperation in the EU, Cameron stressed that the EU must seal a deal on new policies so that member states can share airplane passenger records as well as a further investigations on the trade of unlawful fire arms across the continent.

British politicians are keenly aware of public opinion over whether to launch air strikes on Syria.

The longer ISIL is allowed to grow in Syria, “the greater the threat it will pose”, he said.

He said in the 24-page response that the campaign against Islamic State was entering a new phase, focusing on command and control, supply lines and financial support – something that suited Britain’s capabilities.

In a key development Monday, Putin arrived in Tehran Monday for his first trip to Iran in eight years.
