Wilkenfeld said at least a dozen children were injured in the accident, but all of the injuries appeared to be minor.

The CHP said the bus was shuttling kids from Camp Kee Tov in Berkeley.

The CHP did not say immediately how many kids were on the bus.

A counselor on the bus reported to the CHP that several of the students had bloody noses as a result of the crash, and one counselor reportedly received cuts on the face.

Berkeley fire crews responded to treat the injuries and take children to the hospital if necessary, according to the fire department.

KRON 4 will update this story as details become available.

The crash prompted the closure of two left lanes of the highway for much of the morning.
