Can Memphis resurrect special season with win over Houston?
Both Memphis and Houston are having very successful seasons for non-power conference teams. However, Houston remains unbeaten and still has a chance to make things insane in terms of the College Football Playoff and Greg Ward Jr. will look to carry the Cougars to remaining ideal on Saturday. Houston specifically has a great shot at making a New Year’s Six bowl which would be quite the great accomplishment. The difference is that Houston beat Cincinnati by three while Memphis lost to Navy, who is also undefeated in the AAC this season.

The Tigers’ magical season ended last week.
Much like Lynch leads the Tigers at quarterback, the story for Houston is all about their quarterback in Greg Ward Jr.
Lynch has spread the ball around this season as Memphis has thre different receivers with at least 30 catches and more than 500 yards receiving. The Tigers have scored the most points per game in the American Athletic Conference (44.8), while rushing for almost 195 yards and throwing for just over 352 yards per game. Ward has 16 rushing touchdowns and 13 passing touchdowns this season, averaging 327 yards of total offense. Kenneth Farrow has a team-high 857 rushing yards and 10 TDs and the Cougars are ranked seventh nationally in rushing yardage (273).
The Tigers will counter with a pass-heavy offense lead by quarterback Paxton Lynch, who has been one of the best QBs in the nation this season. Memphis climbed all the way into the Top 15, but Navy whacked them at home last week in a game where the offense could never really get going.
The game kicks off at 7 P.M. Eastern time and to watch the live broadcast go here.
