Chicago will get the 39th and 45th picks from Montreal.

In addition to trading Eller, the Canadiens acquired forward Andrew Shaw from the Chicago Blackhawks for two second-round picks in Friday night’s draft. In 442 National Hockey League games, the Dane has 73 goals and 83 assists. There was a time when it looked like Chicago would be able to re-sign him given that the Blackhawks freed some cap space by dealing Bryan Bickell to Carolina. The Belleville, Ontario, native has recorded 137 points (70G, 67A) in 322 career regular-season games and 35 points (16G, 19A) in 67 postseason tilts, all with the Blackhawks.

A five-year veteran, Shaw was selected by the Blackhawks in the fifth round of the 2011 draft.

Since that 2015 Cup the Blackhawks have already had to say goodbye to Brandon Saad, Teuvo Teravainen, Patrick Sharp, Johnny Oduya, and now Shaw.
