Candle starts fire that destroys several boats moored on Lake Union
Investigators will now start looking into what may have caused the fire. According to various reports, the boats, which were docked at the Hillsboro Inlet Finish Marina, located at 2705 N. Riverside Drive, went up in flames just after midnight Tuesday.

“We’ve got three generations of fishing here and it breaks my heart”, said fisherman Chip Hunt. I tried to get close, there was nothing I could do. I might have a few minor burns on me.
Two of the boats that were on fire eventually sank.
“They’re extremely unsafe, you have a lot of these boats that have compressed scuba bottles, natural gas, diesel fuel, a lot of flammables that could be explosive”, said Morgan. The extent of the damage of the boat that didn’t sink is still being looked into. “We’ve never seen anything like this”.
Many local fishermen are trying to remain positive throughout the ordeal.
Sue Stangl says five people who lived on the boats were evacuated as the fire overtook the building.
Firefighters said it took an hour to put out the flames.

Marshburn said he was asleep when he got a telephone call that his boat was on fire. No injuries were reported.
