“I felt I had him [Cotto] in the first round, I felt superior to him”.

Much like Mayweather, Alvarez dominated. “For Latinos all over the world, this is our Super Bowl”, said Oscar De La Hoya.

Boxing news results have been revealed.

There is no denying the fact that Alvarez was mighty impressed with his fight. Another challenge has already emerged.

Golovkin, however, is not a fan of the idea, saying, “There is no chance that I will go to 155-pounds for a “Canelo” fight”.

“I’m ready…if he wants to return, let him return…all this is experience for me because the fight coming up will be better for me”, the WBC titlist said.

This would not come as a surprise to any boxing fan.

The Puerto Rican star proved again that he’s a warrior but had little answer for the power of Alvarez, which was on display in the form of lead right hands, uppercuts and hooks for most of the fight. Discussions on opponents and locations will come later. “We knew going into this fight that it would be a hard journey, but I feel that I was the faster and stronger fighter tonight”, Alvarez said. While Cotto was unable to defeat either fighter, though Alvarez beat Trout in a unanimous decision. Alvarez showed off far more defense with fluid head movement than in his only career loss, to Mayweather two years ago, but never at the detriment of the fight. He is only 25 years old compared to Miguel Cotto who is 33 years old. “People say, ‘Why’d you put him against that tough guy?’ Because I wanted to see him fight the best”.

Miguel Cotto (L) and Canelo Alvarez pose during their official weigh-in at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on November 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The fresher legs were at an advantage in the later rounds. “I’m very happy and much respect to Miguel Cotto”. “There’s no (expletive) way”.

After the match that paid Cotto US$15 million, he and his team felt like he had won the fight.

Although the judges’ margins were higher, all ringside media also scored the fight for Alvarez. Two big punching middleweights in their prime with all the major titles and boxing supremacy at stake.

De La Hoya echoed the same goal “Canelo” had for his next fight, Boxing Scene noted.

Undefeated junior featherweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux won in an uneventful fight against Drian Francisco, but Francisco Vargas and Takashi Miura brought the crowd back with a brutal slugfest that left both fighters bloodied and in a Vargas knockout win that served as an rousing prelude to the highly anticipated main event.
