‘Cannabis forest’ discovered in London

All in all, officers counted some 150 marijuana plants covering an area about the size of a football pitch.

They headed to Lower Marsh Lane in Kingston and quickly found the cannibis plants, which first appeared to be a field of Christmas trees. However, despite its neatly hidden location, its expanse is quite big, with the forest reaching just a few streets away from university halls of residence and a sixth-form college, reports the Daily Mail.

A sizeable plantation that would’ve probably made Scarlett O’Hara turn green with envy was discovered earlier this week by law enforcement officers in Kingston upon Thames, south-west London.

Officers have secured the wasteland and are in the process of arranging for the plants to be removed and destroyed.

A “forest” of suspected cannabis plants that looked like Christmas trees has been found in a remote area.

Two sergeants tweeted: “Welcome to the leafy suburbs of Kingston!”

‘Whoever set this up used a really remote spot – the only way to get there was a 20-minute walk through wasteland, ‘ PC Sarah Henderson told the BBC.

The discovery in a residential area came after a member of the public said they had seen a small number of the plants.

Getting creative with their extraordinary find, images of the “cannabis forest”, were uploaded on Twitter by the investigating officers.
