As with the company’s professional cinema cameras, Canon Log and Wide DR modes are available for capturing a wide dynamic range.
Canon says the ME20F-SH can be used for cinematic production, reality TV, nature/wildlife documentaries, and security/surveillance.
The ME20F-SH will also have an Electro-Focus lens mount, which will preserve its capabilities, rather independently of all-new lenses.
The first of its kind for Canon, the ME20F-SH features a cube-like design and is capable of capturing video up to an equivalent ISO sensitivity of over 4,000,000 with its full-frame 35mm CMOS sensor.
The key to this mastery of the darkness is an all-new 35mm full-frame CMOS sensor, partnered with a DIGIC DV4 processor.
Most cameras include infrared illumination, having the effect of switching the footage to black and white, but the ME20F-SH captures vivid, full color footage with a lot less noise than other models. Boasting an industry leading unrivalled maximum ISO in excess of 4 million (+75dB), the ME20F-SH is designed to be as small as possible whilst delivering high quality professional grade Full HD footage. As one would expect, the ME20F-SH has virtually every port imaginable. By letting users select the ideal lens based on their shooting or application requirements, taking into consideration such factors as angle of view and level of brightness, this multi-purpose camera facilitates a wide spectrum of imaging possibilities.
Specifically, the camera utilizes output-only 3G/HD-SDI and HDMI terminals for sending video to external video recorders and monitors. Equipped with a φ2.5mm stereo mini-jack and a round 8-pin jack for RS-422, the multipurpose camera is capable of connecting with Canon’s RC-V100 Remote Controller (released in June 2014; sold separately) 6.
