Capcom Registers New Title For ‘Resident Evil’ Game Sequel
Players also got to play as Umbrella mercenaries in Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, but the less said about that, probably the better. Could this be the next game in the franchise? According to reports, it seems that Capcom has registered the name “Umbrella Corps”, which we’re sure many are probably aware that the name belongs to the fictional company in the Resident Evil universe.

Capcom Japan has listed a trademark for “Biohazard Umbrella Corps” with the Japanese Patent and Trademark Office on July 26. A wide range of gaming platforms is also mention, including “portable consoles with LCD screens, TV Home Consoles and Mobile”. While no details are given as to what the game will be, the fact that Biohazard is featured in the name is very specific. Resident Evil and soon Resident Evil 0 are keeping the fans happy to some extent and Resident Evil Revelations has been a good spin-off but we need something a little more substantial. Biohazard is a Japanese name for Resident Evil. However, the title was not thought to have any association with the game franchise, since it lacked the “Resident Evil” reference.

Reported by the site Stevivor, Capcom already used the “Umbrella” name in previous game releases such as “Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles” for Wii. GameSpot has contacted Capcom for a statement on the listing. The thing is that the latter is the location setting for the first Resident Evil trilogy. Let us know below.
