‘Captain America: Civil War’ Is Already the Second Biggest Movie of 2016
Plenty of Marvel fans are heading back to theaters for the second round and beyond.

Given such a run, it is expected to exceed the $1 billion mark (approximately 6700 crores) by end of this week.
Civil War dropped 59 percent in its second weekend in theaters, in line with the second weekend showings of Avengers: Age of Ultron and Iron Man 3..
The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Keanu, Barbershop: The Next Cut and The Boss made up the rest of the top 10 in a weekend that was down nearly 30 percent from this time past year. In just two weeks, it has earned $295.9 million in North America, passing the total domestic grosses of “Captain America: Winter Soldier” film by over $35 million. It is now the second-highest grossing movie of 2016 but that will be short lived with Captain America about to pass $300 million after being out for only ten days.
The opening weekend for Dawn of Justice wasn’t quite as impressive as Civil War.
Globally, Civil War zoomed past $940 million, making it the third consecutive Disney release this year (after Zootopia and The Jungle Book) to surpass $800 million. According to Forbes, approximately $24.5 million of the domestic box office totals is simply from IMAX screenings of the movie. That’s about the same that Days of Future Past had its opening weekend.
The Hollywood superhero flick Captain America: Civil War has remained stable at the box office. This is before the big Memorial Day release of Alice Through the Looking Glass and X-Men: Apocalypse.
Unfortunately, none of this material affects the fact that in American movies, especially thrillers, nearly every problem except the sexual-romantic is resolved only by violence, and Captain America: Civil War every so often indulges in the usual vehicle chases, big orange explosions, shootouts, and gundowns, exceptionally well done as to special effects and stunts, but nothing new.

Considering how critically acclaimed “Civil War” has been, it isn’t hard to see why so many people have gone to see it.
