Captain America: Civil War is Crossing the $1 Billion Mark Today

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity.

Captain America: Civil War is the first of two Marvel films this year; we will be introduced to Doctor Strange for the first time in the autumn. During the premiere, it became an instant blockbuster and with the recent figures coming in, the superhero smash has now officially breached the $1 billion profit mark.

Its domestic total of US$310.5 million has been complimented by US$671.4 million from global territories, with China contributing US$164.2 million and South Korea some US$60.7 million, Variety reported. Today is the 13th day of the movie Captain America Civil war, On the 13th Day movie faced a little problem as its occupancy and its collection report decreased by 25%.

To put that into context, Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” made $1 billion globally in the same amount of time last summer.

On the foreign front, “Captain America” will see a serious challenge from Fox’s launch of “X-Men: Apocalypse” in most markets – a week ahead of its May 27 opening in the U.S.

“Captain America: Civil War” is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Robert Downey Jr.as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.

With this week’s performance, the new Captain America film is now at a staggering $1.053 billion on a budget of just $250 million.
