A new Play Set for Disney Infinity 3.0, Battlegrounds will pit all of the characters from the Marvel universe against each other. It will also introduce a new way of playing, with a more arcade brawler style in a more arena battle type setting.

If you’ve been waiting to find out more about plans for Marvel characters in Disney Infinity 3.0 other than the cool Hulkbuster Iron Man and Ultron figures we saw teased back at Comic-Con, today is your lucky day. All Disney Infinity (2.0 Edition) Marvel figures will be playable in the Play Set and will feature adapted abilities and skills to complement the new style of gameplay of Marvel Battlegrounds.
On Thursday, Disney Interactive and United Front Games published the first trailer for the next big Disney Infinity Play Set headed to stores.
The Play Set will also offer four-player arena-style gameplay. To aid in their efforts, the evil duo create a set of robotic Marvel Super Hero duplicates to keep the Avengers, Spider-Man and the rest of the good guys distracted from the real trouble. The game’s battles will take The Avengers from a wrecked Brooklyn train yard to Wakanda and even a S.H.I.E.L.D.
“We worked closely with the Disney Infinity development team to come up with new gameplay and storyline for Marvel Battlegrounds that is unique to the platform”, Jay Ong, VP of Games, Marvel Entertainment, said in a press release. The newest addition to the Disney Infinity platform is expected to debut sometime in March 2016.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, iOS, and Android. This second iteration of the character to get the Disney Infinity figure treatment is modeled with the likeness of Chris Evans from the upcoming Captain America: Civil War movie.
