Cardinals interested in TE Cooley

McAuliffe’s concession that Virginia may not become home to the Redskins was uncharacteristic, as he has actively advocated for the team’s move to his state. He will also co-host a monthly one-hour show on Fridays during the season, where he’ll provide a detailed look at the Redskins performance. So, NFL media outlets, find yourselves a good friend or two with season tickets to Redskins’ games.

After all Cooley’s early success, his career quickly began to disintegrate following the 2010 season. When asked about his comeback, Cooley responded by stating that “If I went to camp, I could be anybody’s third tight end, worst case. I have no doubt”, he said. “There’s not a question in my mind”.

Cooley has been working hard since the start of the year, and has gotten down to his playing weight of 250 lbs. Opportunities to play in the NFL come and go. “And it’s so dumb, because it’s just a game, but there’s a great fulfillment”. The new Washington Redskins coaching staff had a replacement coming in with Fred Davis and no other teams seemed willing to take a chance on him.

Chris Cooley has been away from the field a few years now, and it appears it may be a few too long. Cooley is still just 33 and if he works out with the Cardinals and they like what they see, he could be an option to make the team out of camp.

“There aren’t the competitive challenges and the competitive accomplishments to be achieved in [every] job, the feeling of going insane because you’ve worked to achieve something”, Cooley told the Post.

“If you think you only have a couple more [chances], why wouldn’t you do it?” Jason Witten is 33 and Antonio Gates is 35. On his drive time radio show in the DC area, he was quoted as saying, “I’ll just say that I want to”, with regard to the prospect of him suiting back up. He has a daughter, Sloane, at home, who isn’t even a year old yet.

Then he got back on the radio, and started talking about Major League Baseball.
