Carl Edwards will start from the pole at the Glen

Watkins Glen International announced that reserved grandstand tickets for today’s Cheez-It 355 at The Glen NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race have sold out for the second consecutive year.

Edwards’ fastest lap time was clocked at 126.562 miles per hour.

Kyle Larson will join Edwards on the front row, and Tony Stewart, who won the first road course event of the year, will start third.

Michael McDowell (125.555mph) – a former driving instructor from the Bondurant Racing School outside of Phoenix – was seventh fastest followed by Kyle Larson (125.509 mph), Denny Hamlin (125.407mph), Kyle Busch (125.371mph), Ryan Newman (125.140mph) and five-time Glen victor Tony Stewart (125.005mph).

He won’t drive at Watkins Glen on Sunday and also will miss the race at Bristol on August 20.

As usual, the Cheez-It 355 came at critical time in the Chase series, challenging the drivers to put away their left-hand turn habits and step out of their comfort zones.

Of course, picking the victor isn’t the only thing you have to be concerned about when it comes to building a successful DFS NASCAR lineup, and driver starting outside the top 20 can still be valuable fantasy options. “We have a little more work to do”.

The race will be shown live on US at 2:30 PM EDT on Sunday Aug. 7. He won the pole at Sonoma Raceway back in late June.

Three accidents from aggressive, no-holds barred driving by some of NASCAR’s top guns along with debris and oil flying from cars literally disintegrating before the eyes of another sellout crowd of 100,000-plus fans conspired to turn a handsome country drive into stop-and-go traffic. “It has yet to be seen how the tire will fall off and how the cars will run together, but the speeds are fast and we didn’t have any trouble”. Sunday’s race will mark the 800th Sprint Cup start of his career. You can also watch FNTSY on Xbox One, Xbox 360, Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

The top two points earners Monday at Pocono, Chris Buescher and Regan Smith, cost just $5,400 and $5,500, respectively. All Buescher needs to do to secure a playoff slot is move up from 31st to at least 30th in the points standings over the remaining five races.

Almirola won’t be mistaken for a road racing ace, and in four starts at The Glen, he has never cracked the top 15. Don’t hesitate to use him as a low-cost option in all formats. He did finish fourth at Watkins Glen previous year and ninth in 2014, but has only led three laps there. He also finished in the top 25 in the first road course event of this season. He is a low-risk, low-priced option to consider, especially in cash games.

How will Mother Nature follow up her Pocono rain out performance this weekend at Watkins Glen?

And if he bounces Junior or Elliott out of the postseason qualifying grid of 16, then he just becomes a villain in this narrative: A sport that cherishes Junior is very much warming up to Elliott, son of NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott. He enters Sunday with a three-race, top-10 streak and should be considered a favorite this week. At this price level he is a great value. “I always loved going for so many different reasons but in particular because the fans really turned out and enjoyed and appreciated the NASCAR drivers and teams coming”.

“The conversations I have had with him is that he believes we are going to fix it”.

In terms of the on-track action, Jarrett called Watkins Glen “the superspeedway of road courses” because it is extremely fast and challenges drivers to be technical and calculating in what they’re doing in the race.
