Carl Nassib goes from walk-on to round three
The Cleveland Browns selected Emmanuel Ogbah, a 2012 Bush High graduate, with the first selection of the second round (32nd overall) of the NFL Draft on Friday night.

“Between those four”, Berry said, “we think we can add a lot to that room”.
They shored up their secondary with two picks – TCU safety Derrick Kindred played last season with a broken collarbone – and by acquiring cornerback Jamar Taylor in a deal with Miami.
Round 3, Pick No. 65: Braxton Miller, WR, Ohio State: At this point, the Browns are almost forced to take a wide receiver given how big of a need it is.
Sashi Brown believes that after Cleveland’s 2016 NFL Draft, it will be the Browns that have the last laugh. The first glimpse of “the new Nassib” was in Penn State’s 2015 Blue-White Game, and it was after that day that both Shoop and Nassib predicted a breakout year for the latter; so confidently that they chose to start a “Sack Kidney Cancer” charitable initiative through Penn State’s Uplifting Athletes chapter in which fans could donate dollars for sacks throughout the 2015 season. Although Griffin and Coleman were never teammates, they both played in the same potent offense.
“Touchdowns … he scores touchdowns”, Browns coach Hue Jackson said.
Overall, the 29 sacks Cleveland registered previous year were good for 28 in the NFL. “I’m ready to roll”.
Those numbers show exactly why the Browns made him their first round selection.
“I was a little tense, because I didn’t know if they would pick me, or even if I would go tonight”, Doctson said. “We’ll roll the ball out and see who is best at throwing”.
Saalim Hakim’s Browns tenure lasted less than a full work week.
Pete Prisco gave the Browns a C grade for the pick: “Could have gone somewhere else”.
Trading back from No. 8 into this spot, the Browns picked up a third-round pick in this year’s draft and a second-rounder next year, so they’re going about filling their barren roster simply by acquiring as many picks as possible. If the drafted players fail to develop, the Browns will struggle once it’s time to play.
Nassib’s dedication was impressive, but nothing compared to the commitment of Shon Coleman, the Auburn offensive tackle selected later in the third round. “I didn’t have any private workouts or visits with them, so I had no idea that I was going to be a Cleveland Brown”. The cancer survivor shared his exciting day at the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital where Coleman battled cancer for almost two years.

“When they look at me, I am like Superman to them”, he said. And if the picks don’t pan out and the Browns don’t win games, coaches and others get fired.
