Carlos Hyde fined for hit that concussed Jon Beason
The hit concussed the Giants linebacker.

An angry Jon Beason accused 49ers guard Alex Boone of grabbing him from behind and deliberately pushing him in the back in a “cowardly” move Sunday night, causing the Giants middle linebacker to sustain his first concussion.
Hyde is a powerful runner who isn’t afraid to initiate contact with defenders.
Boone was not fined for his illegal block. But he has passed all of the tests that are mandatory according to the NFL’s concussion protocol and practiced today as the Giants continued their preparation for their Monday night game in Philadelphia. Injuries have plagued the 30-year-old throughout his career, as he’s appeared in fewer than five games in three of the past four seasons.
49ers coach Jim Tomsula was asked about Beason’s accusation Friday.
The Giants turned the play (which can been seen below) in to the league, Beason said, after no penalty was called during the game.
It s hard enough to stay healthy in this league. “So I just wanted to get that out there, and I hope it gets back to him”. “It could’ve been a lot worse”.
“I didn’t know what happened until I watched the play”.
On the fourth play from scrimmage, Beason was injured when he tackled running back Carlos Hyde, a stop which was preceded by a push in the back from Boone.
“I’m sorry he feels that way”, Boone said of Beason’s comments. After saying he felt great, he turned his attention to Boone, saying that he avoided the offensive lineman on the stretch play and had cleared him. So I never saw Hyde because my head was down. I’ve been tackling people for a long time, I have several hundred tackles, I have never had a recorded concussion…. But when you do something illegal, that’s why it’s called a clip for a reason. “I think it’s a coward move”.
“There is no reason to push anyone in the back in football”, Beason said.

“They said I was stumbling after the play, and when you look on film, it does show that”, he said. We don’t know who it’s going to be, but we feel confident about everybody’s role.
