Carly Fiorina Dismisses Her Past Attacks on Ted Cruz

The Republican nominee for president laid out a thorough endorsement, pointing to her experience in the job sector and as a sterling example of someone who started as a secretary of a company and rose to the top as a CEO. I’m not getting to 1,237 delegates, and Donald J. Trump is not getting to 1,237 delegates.

In a last-ditch attempt to revive his lagging campaign, Republican candidate Senator Ted Cruz has announced Carly Fiorina as his running mate.

Both moves underscored Trump’s commanding position in the GOP race. Trump now holds a strong lead with 954 delegates (1,237 is needed for the Republican nomination) ahead of Cruz’s 562 and John Kasich’s 153.

“Cruz has no path to victory”. He cast the unusual announcement as a way to give voters confidence in their choice if they vote for him.

“When you’re running for election, the most solemn choice you can make is the choice of a vice presidential candidate”, he said. “He and Hillary Clinton are two sides of the same coin”. She cast Trump and Clinton as a pair of liberals who would do little to shake up Washington.

The famously unlikable Cruz may also figure Fiorina helps soften his image. “The people of IN are very smart – they will see through this just like they saw through the already failed Kasich alliance”, Trump said.

“Trump’s speech on foreign policy [on Wednesday] shows that Americans have for the first time in a long while a sober, national-interest based alternative to the disastrous policies of Republican Party neoconservatives and Democratic Party liberal interventionists”.

That’s the previous year no GOP nominee was decided before the National Convention. CNN’s Jake Tapper recited from Trump’s remarks.

In her reelection bid against Fiorina in 2010, Boxer won 52% to 42%.

“There is a lot at stake”, she said.

While most comments will be posted if they are on-topic and not abusive, moderating decisions are subjective.

Mr Trump and Ms Fiorina tangled on the campaign trail during her White House race. With four victories Tuesday, she now has 91 per cent of the delegates needed to clinch the Democratic nomination.

According to a senior campaign adviser for Sen. Craig Robinson, a former political director of the Iowa Republican Party, said Cruz would have been better off picking an experienced politician who could help him secure delegates in a fight at the convention. She endorsed Cruz in early March and has been a frequent, energetic surrogate for the Texas senator.

“This is the fight of our time, and I believe Ted Cruz is the man to lead that fight”, the former Hewlett-Packard chief executive said as she accepted his offer to join the hypothetical GOP ticket.

While Fiorina is popular among GOP voters, she wasn’t popular enough to stay in the race past New Hampshire.

Traditionally, running mates are only named by the presumptive nominee ahead of the Republican convention.

Cruz trails Trump now by nearly 400 delegates, and he needs a big win next Tuesday in IN to even hope to close the gap.
