Carly Rae Jepsen Lands Iconic Role in Fox’s ‘Grease

David Del Rio (“Spare Parts“, “The Troop“) has also been cast as Putzie in this rendition of the classic musical centered around too-cool-for-school high school greasers, the T-Birds, and their gals, the Pink Ladies.

FOX is still rounding-out the final casting-calls for the network’s planned “Grease: Live” event and the latest addition to the cast is pop-singer Carly Rae Jepsen.

Grammy nominee Jessie J will open the live musical with a new version of Barry Gibb’s “Grease (Is the Word)” (the same song that was featured in the opening title sequence of the 1978 film starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John).

Thomas Kail and Alex Rudzinski will direct the live musical and Zach Woodlee (“Glee” and “Annie) will choreograph”.

The highly anticipated production is filled to the brim with A-list talent since they previously cast Julianne Hough as Sandy, Les Miserables’ Aaron Tveit as Danny, Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo, KeKe Palmer as Marty, and many more!
