Carol Burnett Wearing Slippers at the SAG Awards Is All of Us
Instead of being the lady taking her heels off at the after-party, we’re thinking Carol should start the trend of slippers for the pre-game and heels for the big part of the night.

Burnett talked about how seeing all those movies with her grandmother shaped her sensibilities and career aspirations.
This was Burnett’s first SAG award – the show only began in 1995 and Burnett’s prime was in 60s and 70s with The Carol Bennet Show.
“In essence, we mounted a musical comedy review every week and oh God, did we have fun”.
“She’s better than all of us, and we’re giving her a prize for it”, Poehler succinctly put it.
“It was important for us to see that Carol was also the boss”.
“Let’s all calm down about Leonardo DiCaprio and how hard it was to shoot ‘The Revenant.’ OK?” But before they honored Burnett with their words, Fey and Poehler honored her in spirit by cracking a few smart-girl jokes of their own. It was laying the groundwork for the work she’d do, sending up movies in her variety show. Hope collected around appearances from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who have been woefully absent from the awards proceedings so far; Idris Elba, who looks handsome at podiums; and Leo, who adds to the “will he, won’t he” intrigue on the road to the Oscars.
“She took risks as a performer and through her courage, encouraged fellow actors to try new things and always, always reach for the sky”, Howard said. I’m going to tell you my life story.
Burnett then walked out on stage and accepted her award. Fey and Poehler revealed that they grew up watching The Carol Burnett Show and were inspired by both her comedic chops and her ability to call the shots. Luckily for us, Burnett said “no” and changed their thinking.
