Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark reacts during her match against Garbine Muguruza of Spain at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in London, July 6, 2015.
After crashing out 6-4 6-4 on Court Two to 20th seed Garbine Muguruza, the Danish ace took at pop at organisers for the scheduling.
Unhappy with a trend she has noticed through the tournament, two-time USA Open finalist Wozniacki said: “The women really haven’t gotten the opportunity here to play on the big courts”.
A spokesman said: “Play on all courts, except Centre Court and No 1 Court, will start at 11.45am instead of 11am”.
After her exit, Wozniacki was asked if she would have preferred to play on a bigger court. But here she is, at 30, on Centre Court. The Vasek Pospisil match with V Troicki went to five set with Canadian Pospisil taking the last two set 6/3, 6/3 to win the match.
“Mate, Rafa (Rafael Nadal) and stuff play 30 seconds in between points every time and all I’m doing is putting my sock back on”.
“I think a lot of us women feel like we deserve to play on the big courts in front of a big crowd, as well.'”.
“I think I struggled a little bit with the timing today”.
Serena Williams took on sister Venus on Centre and Maria Sharapova faced Zarina Diyas on Court One.
Wozniacki was the only surviving player from the world’s top dozen in her half of the draw as more and more of the top seeds are being mown down by outsiders.
“I heard it was a great fight from both of them, ” Kvitova said.
“She accustomed to that better than I did”.
