Carrasco struggles as Indians lose 11-4 to White Sox
Clevinger (2-2, 5.01 ERA) has made only two starts since August 13, with one lasting only 1 ⅔ innings against the Astros, though he gave up only one run apiece. “But you’ve still got to go out there and you have to execute pitches and still got to figure out what you were doing wrong”.

Josh Tomlin pitched five effective innings in his return to the Indians rotation.
The successful promotion was paired up with success on the field, as the White Sox blew out the Indians 8-1 in the game.
Cleveland’s lead in the AL Central was trimmed to six games over Detroit, which rallied for a 4-2 victory over Minnesota.
Todd Frazier and Carlos Sanchez also drove in two runs apiece as the White Sox erupted for seven runs in the sixth inning.
Indians manager Terry Francona spoke on Tomlin’s upcoming performance: “Hopefully the time down has, not just physically but mentally, given him a chance to think about things”.
“Once my stuff (pregame preparation) is in a bundle and I’m ready to go, I have fun the rest of the day”, Francona said.
Chicago ended the inning with seven runs on seven hits, both of which were team highs for the season.
Indians right-hander Trevor Bauer (11-7) surrendered six runs on six hits in 5 1/3 innings to draw the loss.
It has absolutely nothing to do with the game, but after two straight nights of watching the Indians get pounded, we deserve to talk about the dogs. “Tomlin, on talking about his filling in for Salazar on Wednesday, said “[his] job is to take that spot right now and try to make the best of it, and do what [he] can do to help [the Indians] win”. Guyer left with a sore knee, but Francona expected him to play Wednesday. Then the Tigers come to Cleveland for a three-game series beginning on Friday. Four hits followed, with Jose Abreu driving in the first run and Frazier getting his career-high 92nd RBI to chase Bauer. Cleveland RHP Mike Clevinger will not have a set pitch limit when he starts the series-finale Thursday against the White Sox.
White Sox: DH Justin Morneau (stiff neck) was out of the lineup for the second straight game. Following physical therapy, Putnam expects to resume throwing in December. Yan Gomes (shoulder) caught nine innings and went 2 for 4 in a playoff game for Double-A Akron. The lefty was 5-0 with a 1.85 ERA in his previous seven starts.
