Carrie Underwood on motherhood: ‘You feel guilty about every single thing’
She’s a perfectionist onstage, but as a mom, Carrie Underwood is navigating the self-doubt that every parent feels when it comes to having a new baby.

The 32-year-old country star and American Idol season 4 victor toldPeople that 10 years ago, when she was on the FOX show (pictured above, left), she was at her heaviest. With the help of a personal trainer, of course. Underwood also reveals that she’s still breast feeding and plans to do so for “as long as I can take it”, although she’s not sure how much longer that will be. “It’s hard, but it really works”, she said. “It wasn’t the best way”.
Underwood said: “I tell (Isaiah) constantly that he’s the best thing that me or Mike has ever done…”
In 2004, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration banned the sale of dietary supplements containing the herb Ephedra, a favorite ingredient among people suffering from anorexia.
Fortunately for Carrie, she didn’t have any serious problems with taking the diet pills, nor developed an eating disorder. “When I wake up, my belly is flat!” And no, she’s not starving herself either. When she tried to change her appearance and got compliments for it, the body issues got worse.
Check out a behind-the-scenes clip of Carrie on the set of her cover shoot, in which she chats about her weight loss strategy and her workout line, Calia.
“After I had Isaiah, my goal was to take control of my body again. I was lucky: I gained only 30 pounds, which is the recommended amount, and I exercised throughout my pregnancy”, Carrie said, according to Shape Magazine, where she is featured for their November issue.
