Country singer Carrie Underwood released her latest single off her new album “Storyteller”, last week, entitled “Smoke Break”.

Carrie says of the new music, “I feel like [Storyteller] is just really relatable”. We all wear many hats and are spread thin, so we can all relate to being exhausted and needing a break. “I want to grow as an artist and I just want every album to have its own feeling and then it all feels different and it all works together when I’m on tour”.

“Things ended up being more twangy but kinda this cool, edgy twang, like a rock twang”, she added.

Underwood showed off the artwork for Storyteller on Entertainment Weekly.

‘We were writing and kept taking breaks to go outside because we were getting a little stuck on a song we were already working on, ‘ she said.

But if the reaction to Storyteller’s lead single “Smoke Break” is any indication, longtime fans will be thrilled with the new album. Woo hoooo!!! I think it’s a good sign! It was really important to me to stay true to who I was before. “And it’s so nice when – if and when – you actually get to step away for a second”. The singer exclaims, “When things get tough, sometimes I need a smoke break”.
