Verizon Wireless has joined rival carriers T-Mobile and Sprint in running a free iPhone 7 launch promo. Some customers were reporting that they were denied even though they had great credit, while others who said they had bad credit were still able to get in. The underlying reason appears to be that iPhone Upgrade Program members were placed into a separate stream than regular pre-order customers, and forced to reserve a new iPhone from a local Apple retail store – many of which were sold out. Additionally, if the consumer wishes to leave T-Mobile at any time in the subsequent two years, one will be required to either return the phone or pay a part of the original price. Meanwhile, those who opt to purchase the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus would have to pay $1,269 for a 32GB model, $1,419 for the 128GB model or $1,569 for the 256GB model.
