Carsley rules out long-term Brentford stay
The 41-year-old was placed in charge following the departure of head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen on Monday.

However Carsley, who enjoyed two playing spells with the Sky Blues before working in the backroom staff, insists he wants to focus on being a youth coach and he has no ambition to become permanent manager of the Griffin Park club. He likes to shoot, which is something that we want in the team.
The former Portsmouth trainee has played for England at every level from Under-16s to Under-20s. It’s just so happened that the last two clubs I’ve been at I’ve ended up as a caretaker manager.
New Brentford boss Lee Carsley has ruled out staying in the job beyond the end of the season.
“I didn’t ask to be a football manager”. I want to be a coach – I love coaching.
Carsley lost his first match in charge of the Bees on Tuesday, when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Birmingham City.
He said: ‘I have done it before at Coventry and that probably felt longer tonight, that was a long 90 minutes. It’s always hard to go back.
“I think they are a good team and they are good players”.
“We knew Brentford would have lot of possession but we are quite happy with teams doing that and we kept our shape and asserted control in second half”. There’s a lack of confidence and that’s the hardest thing in football.

He explained: “I’m delighted that we’ve persuaded John to join us on loan for the next month”.
