CARSON ANSWERS TRUMP HIT Calls personal attacks ‘politics of destruction,’ won

Iowa supporters’ response to Donald Trump’s 95-minute eruption? “It’s somewhat inappropriate, I think”, he said. So far in his campaign, he’s been right. No consensus alternative to the outsiders has emerged from the pack of governors and senators running, and there is disagreement about how to prosecute the case against them.

“I’m not bringing up anything that’s not in his book”, Trump continued. The problem is that his chief rival for the Republican nomination is working the same angle.

Donald Trump repeatedly assailed Carly Fiorina on Twitter Friday, saying she butted into his feud with Ben Carson because of her falling poll numbers. Rather than condemn or attack him, Carson was compassionate.

It’s plainly caught the billionaire wrong-footed, and he’s still trying to find his balance.

And the “self-funded campaign” jab was an apparent reference to criticism that Trump’s campaign has received for downplaying its millions of dollars in donations. In the clip, Carson says, “I had a large camping knife and I tried to stab him in the abdomen”, over background music befitting a horror movie.

Later, campaigning in SC, Carson labeled the attack “gratuitous” and decried what he called “the politics of personal destruction”.

“I hope, frankly, it comes out great for him”, Trump said.

He has spent recent days attacking Rubio over immigration, a clear indication that he is planning on sweeping up Trump’s support base, and that he considers Rubio a more significant threat than the man once expected to be the front-runner, pool old Jeb Bush. He came across as peevish when he was challenged, but didn’t spend much of his time on the attack.

But it was a different story on Thursday as Trump turned brusque. Two candidates can debate all they want, but in this case, GOP frontrunner Donald Trump took a low-blow cheap shot at rival Dr. Ben Carson by stating that Carson’s pathological temper is like that of a child molester and cannot be cured.

Trump even questioned Carson’s recollection that his untamed childhood led him to turn to religion for redemption.

“A child molester, there’s no cure for that”. “We’ve got to have more from Trump than putting people down”, he said.

You’re acknowledging that it’s OK to win by tearing other people down and disavowing a few of the basic rules of a civil society. “You don’t cure the child molester”. There’s only one cure. That’s the ultimate cure. “You know, when he says he went after his mother and wanted to hit her in the head with a hammer, that bothers me. ‘You compared this and therefore they’re the same.’ I don’t buy all that”, Carson said. Trump now captures 42 percent of those voters while Carson has fallen off slightly.

“There are churches full of people in the Hispanic and African-American community that believes just like you do”, he told the crowd.
