Carson campaign says it outraised Cruz
U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz speaks at a campaign stop in Johnston, Iowa, on December 4, 2015. He had raised more than $26 million for the year through the end of September.

The Republican feuding came as Christie and Rubio both launched three-day runs through the eastern portion of the Hawkeye State, where Senator Ted Cruz of Texas has led recent polls and Donald Trump has come in a distant second.
Trump’s comments were also very similar to what he said about the religious background of another candidate, retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson, just as Carson was challenging Trump’s dominance in Iowa polls earlier this year.
“Some campaigns are focused exclusively on a man, some on a movement”.
“Someone has convinced him that attacking me is going to help him win, ” Rubio said, repeating a line that he used against Bush during the October CNBC debate”.
While that number dwarfs Cruz’s results, and likely every other Republican running, it could prove to be window dressing concealing larger problems within the Carson campaign, which the candidate himself has publicly said needs a dramatic shakeup. The exact amount won’t become public until late next month, when the next round of Federal Election Commission reports are filed. “Official fundraising reports of how campaigns fared in the fourth quarter do not have to be released until January 31”.
As 2015 wanes, the Florida senator returns to Iowa on Tuesday for a multi-day swing, hoping to shore up support and finish among the top candidates in the February 1 caucuses.
Bush’s behemoth SuperPAC, Right To Rise, has been doing the bulk of ad spending on his behalf, and will continue spending millions on TV in early states.
Criticisms of Rubio’s Senate attendance have been a rolling issue since the start of his campaign – The Fort Lauderdale Sun Sentenl called for Rubio to resign his seat because he was being paid $174,000 by taxpayers for a job he did not want to do. Rubio’s campaign, so far, plans to spend the most in the state, with the Bush super PAC close behind.
“We finished the last fundraising quarter with more money in the bank than any Republican in the field”.
“He’s out here trying to get the popular vote of the people”, said Mary Reed, 65, of Bellevue, Iowa, who is considering supporting Rubio “Missing a few votes does not bother me”.

In addition to airing ads, Trump’s campaign has begun taking other traditional steps like beefing up its phone banking efforts, and, according to Politico, tapping into the Republican National Committee’s vast database of voter information.
