Carson Talked To Kanye And Was ‘Extremely Impressed’ With His Savviness

Carson, the retired neurosurgeon who is polling well in the Republican presidential race, is praising the White House prospects of the rapper West, who said during the MTV Video Music Awards last month that he plans to run for president in 2020. The conversation included a discussion about business and how performers might write more uplifting music.

“Well, I am certainly willing to give him a chance”. Ben Carson, now trailing Donald Trump in the polls, told ABC’s This Week that he’s “certainly willing to give [West] a chance”. Carson was responding to the compliments that West gave him in an interview with Vanity Fair, published this week.

Carson’s wide-ranging interview with ABC also touched on the migrant crisis and USA immigration policy. However, don’t expect a Carson/West ticket as the rapper made it clear that, if he does run in 2020, it’s for Commander-in-Chief and not Vice President. “I was like this is the most brilliant guy”, West said.

‘I do not believe Sharia is consistent with the Constitution of this country, ‘ he said.

It’s worth noting that Kanye has exactly as much experience holding public office as Carson, and unlike him, he’s never said that Muslims are unfit to be President or that taking AP US history will make you want to join ISIS.

West had a chance to sit down with Carson and talk to him, and Ben Carson was “extremely impressed” with some of Kanye’s ideas.

Now, it appears the feeling is mutual as the presidential candidate has praised West’s business acumen. Surrounded by security detail and flashing cameras, Carson was recently caught on camera rushing to enter a black SUV when he was asked about his thoughts of West’s political aspirations. “He knows a lot about business”. “I think all the people running right now have something that each of the others needs”.

“I talked to a number of the sheriffs on the borders and they’ve told me what kind of people are coming over”, he said.
