Carson Wentz, Everett Golson among participants at Eagles’ rookie camp
Friday, Wentz was in the NewsControl Compound on the first day of the Eagles’ rookie camp, a reported $26 million wealthier than he’d been at the beginning of the week. After the Eagles traded up twice to get in position to select Wentz in last month’s National Football League draft, Bradford demanded a trade and skipped voluntary workouts.

Eagles rookies hit the practice field for first time on Friday, including highly touted quarterback Carson Wentz. “I knew when I got my opportunity, I was going to make the most of it”.
“Growing up, Favre has always been my favorite guy to watch, just his mentality, the way he played the game, the way he approached the game, had fun with it”, Wentz said on a conference call from Chicago.
There are times when the media and athletes reach a stalemate; a perfectly natural intersection between both professions where an athlete simply can not give a candid and honest response and the reporter really doesn’t expect one. “And being a competitor, obviously I’ve got a long way to go, but it’s pretty cool hearing that (comparison)”.
That realization finally struck the disgruntled veteran right between the eyes, as he ended his job action and, according to the Eagles, returned to the NovaCare Complex Monday. I’m really not too anxious about it. They’ve got Mark Sanchez – good guy, good player – but was there a chance we could get there.
Sam Bradford is back with the Philadelphia Eagles only after his agent-orchestrated holdout failed to produce the intended result – getting the quarterback shipped to the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
“It’s been unbelievable, it’s been a whirlwind”, Wentz said.
Before Bradford backtracked, the Broncos and Eagles were in negotiations about the possible switch, which gave him the confidence he will make it.
Wentz has a clean sheet, if you will, and was asked much more general questions by the Eagles.
“All I care about is winning”, Wentz said. “But I think the coaches and everybody will be on the same page, and I think it’ll be a really good working relationship, for sure”.

During his senior year, Wentz suffered a broken wrist which limited his regular season playing time.
