Philadelphia’s offensive line struggled most of the first preseason game, giving up four sacks. A group of fans waiting for autographs caught a glimpse of him.

“It was fun”, Wentz said of his National Football League debut with a beaming smile. “I got an opportunity to go out and run the 2-minute drill”. I hadn’t had a ton of reps lately in practice, but it was fun out there.
He completed 12 of his 24 passes for 89 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. The aggressiveness in his style of play, he’s got a lot of (pass breakups) and he’s got hands on the ball.

Mobility and his ability to keep his eyes downfield were arguably the best attributes on display for Wentz on Thursday night.
“It was hard to breathe there for a second, but it’s all good”, he said Thursday. “But at the same time we know we have to be smart about it, to have people ready to go if it is upheld”.
Philadelphia enters the year with Sam Bradford holding over as the starting quarterback even as rookie QB Carson Wentz looks to eventually unseat him, and both could see action in tonight’s exhibition contest.
One preseason game is not enough of a sample to project how successful Wentz will be in his career.
Other than quarterbacks, I would say defensive backs have the toughest adjustment from college to the NFL. The second-team O-line was overwhelmed, from center Josh Andrews to guards Stefen Wisniewski and Isaac Seumalo, to tackles Dennis Kelly and Andrew Gardner.
Still, Wentz showed more than Daniel. “I was finally able to take some hits”.
On one play, Wentz chose to pull the ball and take off on his own. He took a shot right in the ribs, which knocked the wind out of him, he said.
Overall, there are some good things to build off of, but the shooting themselves in the foot problem still looms.
