Cash Money Records represents popular, well-known artists that include Drake, Young Money, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj, suggesting the deal could result in future agreements that will see content from artists signed under Cash Money Records available exclusively on Apple Music. Larry Jackson was an Executive Vice President over at Interscope/Universal for many years, before he rolled out with Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre to blow up Beat Electronics, which was acquired by Apple in 2014 for $3 billion. The deal also included funding for Drake’s One Dance video, which is still officially unavailable on YouTube. But if there’s anything that can be expected from this partnership, it would be the fact that this spells bad news for Apple Music’s competition; particularly Spotify.
